I am participating in Ride for Project Saving Legs to raise money for a great cause: Sunnybrook’s Project Saving Legs™. Sunnybrook vascular surgeons are borrowing from their heart colleagues in a novel way to save limbs. Reduced blood flow to the legs can lead to foot sores ultimately requiring amputation. The condition affects as many as 800,000 Canadians, especially those with diabetes, a disease rapidly on the rise. Our team performs 250 wire-guided angioplasties each year to restore blood flow and save limbs. It offers a clear benefit to patients and costs one tenth as much as amputation at $70,000. When angioplasty isn’t an option, our surgeons perform leg bypass surgery or hybrid procedures, all to restore patient lives, mobility and dignity.
Please support me and help make a difference for this life-saving work at Sunnybrook.
Let’s save some legs! Help us reach the cumulative $1M milestone by making a donation to Ride for Project Saving Legs™.
