Founded in 2018, Friends of Lou is a living tribute to the memory of Lou Mollicone, and its primary goal is to provide unwavering support for Sunnybrook Brain Cancer research.

Every single contribution we make will be channeled into the Gord Downie Fund, a dedicated resource aimed at advancing research to combat Glioblastoma, the most prevalent and aggressive form of primary brain cancer.

It’s worth noting that Lou Mollicone, in his selfless pursuit of a cure, willingly participated in a clinical trial, understanding that his efforts could pave the way for a brighter future. He believed that even if the trial couldn’t save him, it would be instrumental in collecting critical data to shape the treatment strategies for future patients.

Both Gord Downie and Lou shared a fateful diagnosis in the same month and year, and their journeys toward recovery were guided by the same dedicated medical professionals at Sunnybrook.
