Grateful patients raise awareness and funds for brain health

Sunnybrook’s world-leading ALS clinic benefitted from two community fundraisers in 2023, one featuring Fred Birnbaum, who rallied his entire network in support of Sunnybrook, and the other involving the National Hockey League community. Donations from these fundraisers are impacting research and creating hope for people with ALS.

A family fundraiser building community

The Conyers family and friends come together every summer to celebrate the life of Chris Conyers with a creative annual fundraiser. Together, this amazing group raised over $25,000 this year to support Sunnybrook’s Tory Trauma Program.

All hands on deck

Joel Hock, a cancer survivor, and co-organizer of the 2023 Boat Rally event knows that “funding for cancer research makes all the difference.” The amazing race-style event in Ontario’s Muskoka region challenged teams to raise a minimum of $10,000 to participate, followed by a “MuskokaBiza” Ibiza-themed after-party.
